Get Your Boots Ready: Individual Tickets On Sale Now for 2010 Tom Thumb Texas Stampede
ALLEN, TX – Sept. 7, 2010 – What do you call authentic rodeo competition, national musical headliners, a three-day festival and a great cause? The 2010 Tom Thumb Texas Stampede, which rolls into its new home in the Allen Event Center this November. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Sept. 8th for the Nov. 12th and 13th rodeo and performances.
To kick things off right, Dierks Bentley performs the evening of Friday, Nov. 12th. With multiple Grammy nominations, a Top New Artist award from the Academy of Country Music, a Breakthrough Video of the Year and Performance of the Year for “Country Boy” at the CMT Music Awards – not to mention gold and platinum certified albums – Dierks Bentley is one of the hottest young names in country music. The evening begins with a championship rodeo at 7:30 p.m. at the Allen Event Center, followed by a full-length concert by Dierks Bentley. Ticket prices are $30 for general admission seats, $50 for assigned plaza seats and $100 for assigned VIP seats in the first six rows.
Montgomery Gentry take the stage the evening of Saturday, Nov. 13th. This hit country duo, composed of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, has earned a string of nominations and awards in its multi-decade career, including Favorite New Artist – Country from the American Music Awards, Top New Vocal or Group from the Academy of Country Music and Vocal Duo of the Year from the County Music Association. With 10 top 10 hits under their belt buckles, this group will put on a memorable, full-length show at the Allen Event Center following an exciting rodeo competition that starts at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $30 for general admission seats, $50 for assigned plaza seats and $100 for assigned VIP seats in the first six rows. Tickets will also be on sale for the Saturday Noon Matinee featuring CBR Horizon Series Championship Bull Riding. With half-priced reserved seating tickets, this is an event the whole family can enjoy! Take in the exciting bull riding series competition with the nation’s best riders. Ticket prices are $20 for general admission, $25 for assigned plaza seats and $50 for assigned VIP seating in the first six rows. The 2010 Tom Thumb Texas Stampede also now includes a Western Heritage Festival, a free event at the Allen Event Center and related locations throughout The Village at Allen that celebrates the history and culture of North Texas. On Thursday night, the festival opens to everyone and offers an opportunity to meet the rodeo contestants and the 2010 Miss Texas Stampede. The festival will include a petting zoo, pony rides, goat roping, western art, a western marketplace, live music and performances by local and regional groups, children’s activities and a chili cook-off. The festival runs from Thursday, Nov. 11th through Saturday, Nov. 13th. Beyond championship rodeo and great concerts, the Texas Stampede is a non-profit organization that has contributed close to $3 million to children’s charities in North Texas. The primary beneficiary of the Stampede has been Children’s Medical Center, one of the nation’s largest pediatric hospitals. Other beneficiaries include Child Care Group (CCG), a non-profit focused on expanding quality child care, especially infant care and partially subsidized care for working poor families. A hallmark of the 2010 Tom Thumb Texas Stampede is the rodeo competition, which features bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and barrel racing by the sport’s top contestants, followed each night by a full-length concert with national artists.
